About The Artist
Julie Keon discovered the art of
belly casting in 1999. At
the time, she was just beginning her career as a doula when one of her
clients invited her to assist in making a cast from a mail order kit.
Following this experience, Julie was asked to assist a colleague in
creating belly casts for a future art show.
It would take a couple of years for Julie to begin to master this
fine art through trial and error and to offer it as a part of her doula
services. To this day, she As well as a Professional Caster,
Julie Keon is a Certified Birth Doula, Certified Postpartum Doula and Certified
Breastfeeding Counselor
and owner of
Mother Nurture
Childbirth Services.
Julie lives in the Ottawa Valley with her husband, Tim, and their
daughter, Meredith.
